ALL THE COLORS: The Art, Faith, and Full-Spectrum Heart of GeorgeAnn Shafer
Her Canvas is Full Color, Her Souls is Full Throttle.
Some artists paint with pigment.
GeorgeAnn Shafer paints with purpose.
From her Lindale, Texas studio to the halls of art schools and nonprofits across the state, GeorgeAnn lives her life in all the colors — bold, bright, and beautifully blended. She’s a studied artist, a devoted teacher, and a woman of unwavering faith whose creativity overflows from the canvas into every corner of her community.
The Legacy of a Name
Named after her father, George Shafer, the longtime Chairman of the Board for the State Fair of Texas, GeorgeAnn inherited not only his name but his sense of leadership, legacy, and love for people.
Raised in Dallas in a family that valued education, service, and community, she attended a Christian Academy before following her creative calling to the Academy of Art University and later earning her Master of Art from Texas Christian University (TCU).
But her true education came from growing up behind the scenes of the State Fair of Texas — surrounded by color, creativity, and the hum of possibility. That’s where her love for art, horses, and humanity first began to intertwine.
From Rustic Roots to Radiant Mastery
GeorgeAnn’s paintings are instantly recognizable — richly detailed, emotionally textured, and deeply inspired by her equestrian upbringing. Horses gallop through her canvases not just as subjects, but as symbols of freedom, strength, and grace.
Her precision, emotion, and storytelling have earned her national recognition and a devoted following among collectors who see not just beauty, but soul in her work.
Yet for all her success, GeorgeAnn’s heart has always been in the classroom — where she teaches students of all ages that art is less about perfection and more about perception.
Shafer Studios: Where Faith Meets Color
When GeorgeAnn moved to Lindale, Texas, she built her dream home with one non-negotiable: a studio on-site. That studio, now known as Shafer Studios, is a haven for creativity and connection.
Inside, she teaches classes for children, teens, and adults — using hands-on techniques inspired by the great artists of history. Her curriculum is equal parts education and inspiration: a blend of art history, storytelling, and tactile learning that keeps students engaged, curious, and confident.
Her teaching philosophy is simple: make art attainable, joyful, and alive.
Each class feels like stepping into a time capsule of creativity — where Van Gogh meets faith, Picasso meets play, and every student leaves with paint on their hands and purpose in their heart.
Giving Back in Full Color
GeorgeAnn’s art extends far beyond her easel. A tireless supporter of youth and community programs, she serves on numerous nonprofit committees, including the State Fair of Texas Youth Ag Programs, where she helps raise substantial funds each year to support young people in agriculture and education.
Her dedication isn’t for applause — it’s for impact. She believes in nurturing the next generation of dreamers, doers, and difference-makers, whether they’re holding a paintbrush or a plow.
A Life in Living Color
Ask anyone who knows her, and they’ll tell you: GeorgeAnn Shafer is pure light.
She walks into a room and changes it — not with grandeur, but with grace. Her laughter is contagious, her faith unshakable, and her friendships legendary. She embodies the rare combination of elegance and authenticity — equal parts artist and advocate, teacher and student, friend and force of nature.
Her life is a gallery of everything good: faith, family, art, and service — framed by joy, textured with kindness, and painted in all the colors.
“She doesn’t just see color — she lives it. Every shade, every season, every soul she touches.”
